Opportunities For Indigenous Experiences
Crystal Cruises will be carrying about 1,000 cruise ship passengers on its Northwest Passage voyage. The cruise line will first travel this route in the summer of 2016, and has included a visit to the community of Ulukhaktok, N.W.T. It is expected that no more than 250 people will be on shore at any one time. Crystal Cruises is the first cruise line with that kind of capacity to cruise the Northwest Passage. Community members will need to work with the cruise line to develop experiences in and around Ulukhaktok.
Even though cruise lines have scheduled visits in certain communities, they may be cancelled prior to arrival, due to bad weather.
